A hotel for those who are tired of the stone jungle

The fact that the hotel is very ecological becomes clear already upon arrival at Male airport. Tourists are taken from the arrival terminal to the seaplanes in ultra-modern Tesla cars.

A lot is written on the Internet about how Soneva Jani takes care of nature and ecology, but how cool it is in reality, you only understand when you get to the hotel. The doorknobs and cutlery are made from recycled aluminum cans, and it’s not just any old junk, it’s a real work of art! In general, the idea of design and care for the environment forms the basis of the hotel concept: for the construction of the beach restaurant, building materials left over from water villas are used, all cups and saucers are made in the own pottery workshop, all glass bottles are sent to the sister hotel Soneva Fushi, where they are recycled and glassware and design elements are created from them in the glass-blowing workshop.
Water villas with a slide are huge, at first you get lost in them and don’t understand where anything is, and then you get used to it and don’t want to leave at all.

You can talk about Soneva Jani for a long time, but it still won’t help you understand it until you visit the hotel in person.
A few facts: the roof above the bed in the villa slides, you can admire the starry sky without getting out of bed. The first underwater cinema in the Maldives. The Crab Shack restaurant is recognized as the most romantic in the world according to CNN, and they also cook amazingly delicious crabs there. At low tide, the sea is choppy, but the hotel is working on it. The island is very large: from the end of one branch of water villas to the end of the other, about 5 kilometers. Electric bicycles are attached to each villa, so instead of pedaling across the island, you can simply press a button and ride like a scooter.

Soneva Jani is actually complete relaxation and unity with nature, and to feel it to the fullest, you must visit it in person.

Soneva Jani is my second trip to the Soneva network (the first was Soneva Fushi 5 years ago). I love their “shoeless (#barefoot)” policy and maximum care for all living things. I love to see the many shells moving on the white sand, in which cute crabs live, and I love to ride a bike along the long island among the mangroves, which are already filled with huge beautiful crabs and flying foxes!
My friend and I really liked the fact that you are “as if alone on an island”. Because it is big and you can get lost. We lived in the new part of Giani – chapter 2. Wonderful villas on the water! I recommend!
We sometimes skipped dinners in restaurants to just stay in our villa, order the most delicious Indian paneer and eat on the terrace with a view of the sunset!

We moved to this hotel after Soneva Fushi and one would think that there is nothing more to surprise us after the high-class approach of the first one, but… it was not here 😊
Let me start with the fact that this villa was on the water.

As for the main points: service and cuisine, nothing to add, everything is at a high-class level: perfect breakfasts / lunches / dinners for any taste, a restaurant on the beach, a master chef, whom we met personally at one of the dinners, because the advantage the special thing about the dinner was that the kitchen moved to the beach and we watched the food being prepared.

I would like to mention the villa separately.
This is a real eco-palace made of wood.
A guest room with a dining room, a separate terrace with a pool and a personal slide that descends directly into the ocean, a dressing room, a children’s bath, a huge bath, a shower with access to the yard, a jacuzzi and a view from the second floor that has been compared to the horizon and the ocean.
Villa Soneva Jani is definitely for those who appreciate aesthetics in everything: marble, natural stone, wood and impeccable style.
The bedroom has an open ceiling so that you can fall asleep in the open air.

Adult and children’s bicycles are provided at the entrance of the villa to get to the restaurant or the beach.

For entertainment: snorkeling, kayaking, pills, beach parties.
For relaxation – a wonderful spa.

If you can describe it in two words, it is a corner of paradise.
And those who say that the Maldives is boring, must not have found the perfect hotel (this is what I am suggesting, choose Soneva Jani and you will not regret it).

The most beautiful hotel in my opinion

They were in November-December 2020. The hotel is distinguished by excellent service, and their design, especially the restaurant on the water, is the highest degree of perfection. Incredibly beautiful architecture. The food, especially the Japanese restaurant with cinema, is the highest praise. I want to say without too much embarrassment that I was not uncomfortable or bored for a single minute on the island. Everything is cool.
